National Manufacturing Consortium taps Canadian manufacturing veteran for leadership role, organization says.

Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC), a not-for-profit consortium serving and supporting Canada’s manufacturing industry, announced that Jean-Pierre Giroux has taken over as President. Previously EMC’s National Director of Skills and Talent Development, Giroux’s experience combined with his exposure to EMC, positions him well to ensure his success in the role, the organization says.

“With 20 years of experience working for the manufacturing industry – coast-to-coast, JP’s expertise, network and energy will be at the center of shaping the future direction of EMC.” indicated Al Diggins, EMC, Chairman of the Board. “In bringing Jean-Pierre into the role of President, we bring someone from EMC who understands today’s manufacturing industry challenges and opportunities and is committed to ensuring our members have the tools, resources and support necessary that will help them achieve short-term and long-term success.”

Shawn Casemore, the outgoing EMC President, will continue to be an active member of the EMC team and network, the organization says, and will also provide management support with various programs and projects to ensure a smooth transition.

Incorporated in 1997, EMC is Canada’s largest manufacturing consortium and responsible for contributing knowledge, expertise and industry resources towards the success of nearly 13,000 consortium and online member manufacturers.
